[color:blue]December 11,2006 | WACO, Texas -- School administrators gave a 4-year-old student an in-school suspension for inappropriately touching a teacher's aide after the pre-kindergartner hugged the woman.

A letter from La Vega school district administrators to the student's parents said that the boy was involved in "inappropriate physical behavior interpreted as sexual contact and/or sexual harassment" after he hugged the woman and he "rubbed his face in the chest of (the) female employee" on Nov. 10.

DaMarcus Blackwell, the father of the boy who attends La Vega Primary School, said he filed a complaint with the district. He said that his son doesn't understand why he was punished.

"When I got that letter, my world flipped," Blackwell said in a story in Sunday's editions of the Waco Tribune-Herald.

La Vega school district officials said student privacy laws prevented them from commenting.

After Blackwell filed a complaint, a subsequent letter from the district said the offense had been changed to "inappropriate physical contact" and removed references of sexual contact or sexual harassment from the boy's file.

Administrators said the district's student handbook contains no specific guidelines referring to contact between teachers and students but does state that inappropriate physical contact will result in a discipline referral.

The La Vega school district, which has five schools, covers about 30 miles around Waco.

The link is to a wire story at Salon.com. Truth is, we stay so busy out on the back forty slaughtering cattle that we just don't have time to inbreed. As opposed to interbreed.

Definition of interbreed ~ verb: Breed animals or plants using parents of different races and varieties.

Example: "These species do not interbreed"

If you try harder, you might get your insults correct.

[color:blue] Talk about things and nobody cares . . .

Tsk. My error. Typing too fast and not checking. Unforgiveable. Yes, I meant inbreeding, not interbreeding.

I'm assuming that you're not defending the twerps who perpetrated this misguided lunacy against a 4 year old, so I'll assume instead that you were offended on behalf of your state.

Naturally, other states' school administrators may take this idiot step in the future. Just seems that La Vega, Waco, Texas is the only one so far to do so. Which says something I think.

I will make a concerted effort to proof future insults to avoid offense. Thanks for your input.

I've said it once and I'll say it again...it's not us native-Texans who do this kinda stuff...it's backwash from all those northerners who moved down here in the 80s. They started all this political correctness....not us.

After reading this insane story and recalling the other school-related story of the "kids saw nudity at an art museum" I have to say our school system in Texas is getting downright out of control with this kind of crap. They are also so busy teaching our kids how to get the correct answers on the TAKS tests that unless we as parents teach them what they need for college at home it won't get done in the school system.

Hey, I actually think I can blame Bush and the Republicans for this one!
