PhotoSIG is a very interesting site for sure. You don't really have to be a pro to post photos there but having thick skin does help. More than just a gallery, the whole idea really is to learn more and there are a lot of good folks of all skill levels posting and critiquing photos. The number you saw was points accumulated for posted photos and critiques given. Some of the folks there are very into point levels and others are there to learn and share. To me, the points are nice but the learning experience has been the best part. In the three months or so I've been there I feel like I really have learned a lot.

The most fascinating thing is seeing the constant posting of new photos (approx. 2000 per day I believe) from all over the world that you would never see otherwise. This has to be one of those beautiful aspects of the internet.

Lori, your photos are very nice and anyone could potentially learn more by posting their photos there. Some of my photos have had some very educational critiques that I've learned a lot from. Some have also had some very useless ill informed critiques and some have been totally ignored. It's all good, again, thick skin helps.

There are some brilliant photos and photographers there. If I get a chance I'll post a few names or links for you that are worth a look see. They also have some forums there where you can get some good info about photography questions at times. Definitely an interesting mix of stuff there.

Chris

Light-Imagery
