my new Canon ZR50 DV camcorder just starting munching tapes - damn! Looks like it has a one year warranty and it probably will cover it. Hopefully they can fix it before the Christmas Holidays.

Makes me wonder how rugged these things are. Anybody use a camcorder alot and have it last a long time?

I am using a JVC 315 DV. It is 2 years old and it has been through some bumpy times. Works great still (knock on wood).

I still have one of the first JVC mini camcorders that I dropped from a moving car...still works and keeping it to figure out if I can use it somehow. My Sears full size video recorder from 15 years ago is still going strong too. I use it as a portable VCR at times.

Do you use yours to import into the mac? I have heard that camcorders aren't really made for all that and that the best solution was to get a deck.

[color:red]Kiss My Banana!
