The most frightening thing of all is that it's becoming clear that the so-called "Leader of the Free World" has lost it. Totally. I think we are actually dealing with an honest-to-god madman. Or an idiot under the control of real madmen. And there seems to be nothing that the courts, Congress, the military... anyone... can or will do about it. We're all living in a bad movie. WTF are we gonna do?

I used to say "He's out of a job in '08. We'll just ride it out 'til then." Now? I don't know if we'll last that long. This is very, very scary — because if something isn't done at the judiciary or legislative levels soon, we're inviting anarchy.

Jebus, where's Batman when you really need him?

The armed forces don't particularly go in for legal/illegal differentiation when folks are shooting at them - they also don't read captured combatants their miranda rights. For a person captured on a battlefield the task is to get them away from the shooting to a PoW detention facility. you're right, Llewelyn...

but they've had many of them for 2-3 years- don't you think they could have charged them by now?? (I have NO quarrel with the ones they have credible evidence against, but many they don't and are unjustly held. - that's kidnapping or hostage taking - same as the terrorists do !)

ANd many were NOT on the battlefield, but collected in "sweeps" in Iraq and I suspect many of those are innocent. But they've been held nevertheless. - no charges,
that's not justice- it's a witch hunt!!

When the Abu grab torture scandal broke, they released 700-800 within days... so all of a sudden they discovered those 800 were all innocent? Well thanks....I'll take a nice compliment any day even one I don't deserve...I'm probably one of the poorest here with writing skills... as you know I like to express myself with pictures or gifs.... which I know drives some folks nuts...
I thought the one good thing that has started to happen is that many of the newspapers and columnists etc have taken off the kid gloves...took the bastards long enough and are starting to speak out....some of these folks 2 or 3 years ago wouldn't write anything extremely negative, they all just quoted the crap spewed to them from the WH.....this is 5 pages long but its like the chicken soup when I was just a sprout, my mom used to make when I was sick. After all this time seeing what most of us have felt and tried to write about and for our efforts would be called loonies, tin foil freaks, unpatriotic..sore loser, and more colorful adjectives, usually associated with where we sit the folks who have been writing about these lovers of money, power and greed, and who have wiped their butts with our constitution , then shoved it down our throats..... well some of these "All hail the Prez" writers may have finally seen the light, and I believe the folks who have stood by Bush and believed in him are starting to wake up but what a price this administration has made the world pay. ......for the first time reading some of these folks comments, I feel like that first sip of moms soup....better.... I know you will read it kiddo....enjoy at your leisure...it is long!!!Bush yesterday let bin Laden share his b...r is under way.

Your writing skills are AOK, bird. You're too modest and maybe too shy. I wish you'd talk more, but don't give up the toons, either.

You have a way with pictures, but you have your way with words, too.

LL

[color:blue]. . . . like the devil in the deep blue sea.

And bless our hearts south of the Mason Dixon Line.

Funny, when you posted that earlier, I could hear my grandmother's voice so clear. If one of us fell head first off our bike or butt first out of a tree, there she'd be, dustin' us off, shakin' her head and saying, "Well, bless your heart." Sweet memory.

[color:blue]. . . . like the devil in the deep blue sea.
