[color:purple]Hundreds of Taliban fighters have been massing in the two districts of Panjwai and Zhare, just west of Kandahar, the main city in southern Afghanistan. For months now, the rebels have mounting attacks on and near the main highway and starting fears in Kandahar of an imminent assault on the city. The Taliban presence in Panjwai is undoubtedly having a large psychological effect on Kandahar, and has to be dealt with, a senior NATO officer said last week.

How many more balls are you gonna drop, Mr. War Prez?

Goodjob W.

I caught part of a PBS special the other night I think it's been on before, too just can't recall the title. Interviews with a lot of ex-CIA, former military, and a number of Congressmen and Senators. The war in Afghanistan had barely begun when the beast with two heads and Rumsfeld began redeploying assets to the Iraq theatre. I'll see if I can find the program on the PBS listings and point y'all toward it.

This is disgusting. Thousands of Americans dead on our own soil, and all we've got to show for it is endless rhetoric, Barney Fife bravado, a bunch of newly-minted millionaire widows, and the knowledge that we've now basically fukked over the people of Afghanistan as well as the Iraqis. And lest we forget, OBL is still out there, and still a notch more important than Whitey Bulger!

Yet, slime like Rove is worried about the freakin' image of the GOP and Bush's legacy.

Where's the Tums...
