I am installing Final Cut Express on a new MacBook. The installation runs fine but upon launching tha app, it errors and says that the software requires AGP graphics card. It ran fine on my iBook and I thought that if it would install, it should run on the Intel. Anyone know what's up?<br><br>

It is version 3.0 and I downloaded then attempted it's update from Apple.com. When I did, it said that the update wasn't neccessary for the Mac. I did a reinstall of Final Cut and accessories but am still getting the same message about needing an AGP graphics card. Do I need to upgrade my Final Cut to 3.5 or something better? If so, I wanna puke as I just bought it last December!<br><br>

Found it. <br><br>From Apple's knowledgebase:<br><br>If you open Final Cut Express HD 3.0 on certain computers, you'll get a "Configuration Error" message that indicates that your computer is missing certain hardware or software, or possibly an AGP graphics card. <br><br>To resolve this issue, update to Final Cut Express HD 3.0.1 using Software Update or by downloading it from here.<br><br>

Hey, I've just had the identical experience as the person who did the initial post - installing Final Cut Express 3.0 on my new Intel-based MacBook, got an error about the graphics card and then I went to get the download you reference (actually it's a similar one - your link went to the 3.5 update). But I got a message that my computer doesn't need that update. Contacted Apple and they said 3.5 is no more compatible than 3.0, so upgrading isn't the answer (maybe I'd get the same "you computer doesn't need this update" message as I did the same thing with 3.5). So bottom line: I'm stuck. Wondering if anyone on this thread has had more success. <br><br>

Hey! I found the solution in a post to the Apple site in Australia.<br><br>Someone there posted the following instructions for anyone with a MacBook Pro, but it worked for my plain ol' MacBook. Here are the instructions:<br><br>1. "ctrl" click the icon of FCE (Final Cut Express)<br>2. click "show package contents<br>3. click "con... Read more >tents" and then "ctrl" click the icon that says "info.plst"<br>4. mouse over "open with" and then click "other"<br>5. when the box pops up click (at the top) recomended applicaitons and change it to all aplications<br>6. now open it with text edit<br>7. when text edit opens with all of that HTML. go to "edit" (at top) then "find" then "find..."<br>8. in the "find" box write "AGP" then in the "replace with" box type "PCI" then uncheck "ignore case" and then click "replace all"<br>9. save the file and reopen FCE. It will work now <br><br>
