My niece's daughter has a private profile. Only if they approve it do you get in. No one else. They are talking of all of it going to this. May not be a bad idea.

oh yeah, that's going in the blog
My kid is a very cynical smart-ass (she was right at home in Manhattan), thank Gawd. She don't take no sh!t from nobody. No how. No way. Helps keep her out of harm's way.

Wonder where she got that from.

same here. i joined facebook when i would catch 1/2 of my class checking it before class started. i am embarrassed to even login any more.

i might have told this story before, but i have my students create blogs in my classes. they provide me with the address to their blog and many choose not to use the tool i recommend. well, one student accidentally sent me her myspace blog instead of her other class blog. this was a year or so ago. i had to create a myspace account to view her blog. needless to say, her myspace site had photos that made me blush (i thought she seemed much more . . . um . . . reserved when i saw her in person). i still needed her class blog site and i think i emailed her and acted like i lost her previous email. i am amazed at what folks will put on their myspace sites.

in any regard, i now have a myspace account. i only check it when i get a notification that i have a new message. most recently, i had an aunt and a cousin find me and send me messages.

--
"I am mindful that diversity is one of the strengths of the country" --president bush on 9/27/05
