Here is a link to a segment by an Australian DATELINE show presenting the new photos and videos from Abu Ghraib. These are the photos that Congress got to see last year, but weren't released to the public.

Its just sickening. There has been no independent investigation, and Republicans are blocking any investigation of high ranking officials.

Its a very good segment, but be warned, IT IS GRAPHIC.

LINK

That seriously makes me ill, and angry.

Our Congress and Senate saw these very pictures, but they carried on allowing their political operatives to try to minimize the issue of torture in Abu Ghraib while they pretended that a bunch of low lever guards were exclusively responsible. That is infuriating.

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Yankee Whiskey
The torture was ordered, and approved of, by DICK Cheney,
and the Rules of Torture were redefined under special laws
by his DICK-BOY, Alberto Gonzales, yep the same PoS that's
now defending "The BIG Dubya's" Wire Domestic Tapping.

IMO, This Administration (ESPECIALLY Haliburten's Big DICK)
should be made to cough up every dime of the Public Funds
they're squirreled away, and be held in the same conditions
under which those photos were taken. (And that includes
the FATT Heads that are still blindly defending them.)

Yeah I agree they sure wasted a lot of time and money...

WHY didn't DICKO just take the prisoners hunting??

he likes "canned hunts"....could have alievated all his pent-up frustrations...

Seriously, this is one SICKO Administration. Now we have death squads in Iraq....didn't people say this would be very "ugly"?

.............and even if they aren't "our" death squads per se (let's wait and see if it's 100% Iraqi forces) I bet we equipped and trained them (just like the School of the Americas), and as Powell said' We break it - WE own it!" (for years to come).

I think it'll take us a decade to erase the bad stigma this Admin has created for our (USA) image aroun the world (ie once we can get rid of them).

David (OFI)
I don't know We knew there had to be all kinds of bad stuff that didn't make it to tape. And here is some extra worse stuff that made it to tape. But it's not like we didn't know there was worse stuff. Releasing it now is probably only going to cause more unrest and death. Of course, it all should have been released in the first place by Congress or whomever, then we wouldn't have this dilemma at all.

We are what we repeatedly do. -Aristotle

My, that was refreshing. Not.

There is indeed still shock and awe. I am shocked and awed that members of this Administration are still drawing a paycheck every month. I am shocked and awed that the picture gets dirtier every week. Almost every day!

It's like the "F" word. So common-place now that there's no shock-value any more. Like kids watching too many violent movies or video games, we're being treated to one display after another of utter disregard for human life, dignity, and honesty, and it's desensitizing us to everything that's wrong.

Thank you, George. Thank you for all you've done and are still doing to make America great.
