Of course it accomplishes nothing. Nothing but more pain and anger and needless death, that is. Especially since 5 of the 7 Iraqi women have been released. But at the same time, who were the Iraqi women that were being being held? And for what? Given revelations like Abu Ghraib, where's the moral high ground from which we can condemn acts like Jill Carroll's captivity?<br><br>We may not use beheadings or firing squads, but we haven't been totally above reproach either. Sucks from any angle.<br><br>

I don't need you to tell me that. I was there, remember? I lost friends on the ground and in the air that day. That war I'm behind 100%. Too bad Bush isn't. The situation in Iraq didn't have to be, and I've long since abandoned any belief that the two wars are connected.<br><br>

And I'm not connecting them either. The Iraq situation is more about securing startegic availibilty to the Middle East's oil. We are just protecting our rights as consumers.<br><br>
