So now you're claiming that Enron was a Wag The Dog to take the heat off the war? Or that 9/11 was staged to distract us from any Enron involvement?

Fine, whichever it is (maybe both), you can have it all to yourself. I'm beginning to think that elephant done kicked you upside yo' haid.

Keep in mind, the trial's happening here in Houston. I was really surprised (and pleased) that the judge denied a change of venue. There can't be more than a dozen people in this town who think Lay "just didn't realize" what was happening, and chances are real good that not one of them will serve on the jury.

Fair? Who gives a sh!t. Anybody who was so brain dead he "didn't realize" what was going down at Enron couldn't possibly run a foot race, let alone a multinational corporation. Yeah, he's guilty as sin. Fair or not, that jury is gonna walk in there and hate him, his money and his high power attorneys. Y'all just can't imagine the number of people and families that were ruined financially, the careers that were tanked by association and the civic black eye that Houston took, all because the Smartest Guys in the Room were greedier than they ever were smart.

Trial starts tomorrow and I'm headed up to a project in Wheeler for the rest of the week. Damn, am I ever gonna miss my local news. Truth is, after the first couple of weeks, the process will probably be about as interesting as dry toast.

[color:blue]And I'm the one that jaded you . . .
I really hate it when these guys take the "stupid" defense. With the money they're paid, they should know how many rolls of toilet paper are on-site at any moment. If their defense is going to be "I didn't know" then part of their punishment should be to return every bit of compensation they received during their tenure.

U R Welcome...

I did some more research and apparently the book has been out a few months. I thought it was totally new. We'll see if any momentum comes from it.

On the topic I hope they don't convict Kenny et al and then turn around & throw it out cause they should have had a "change of Venue". Kenny et al deserve the worst they can get .. they affected millions and NOT just ENRON. All those Californians they duped and screwed.I think they should be tried for treason and deported.... to Iraq !!
how about Falujah ?

David (OFI)

Sounds good to me!

...And remind them to not forget their "DICK"!

The ENRON Crew were merely MORE Energy Scum
like the Haliburton Corp. that's bilking this country
for everything it used-to-be worth.

The only thing ENRON did was show that this crap had
been going on far longer than the attack from Osama.

Look back, and you'll see pumping the worth as the bottom
gives way, was the same thing "the Big DUHbya" did to HIS
EX-Oil Company, as well as his BaseBall Team.

Historically speaking,
...the entire Bush Crime Family is rotten to the core.

In reply to:

the entire Bush Crime Family is rotten to the core

they all had their spoon in the stew hopefully all of the recipe wasn't shredded
Dick and Neil "will" see their names splashed across the headines......the times have changed and all the leaks in the wall are losing the plugs......
Don't cry for me Argentina
The involvement of George W. and Neil in Argentina has become something of an m.o. for the Bush brothers in foreign affairs. The sons of the former president have certainly not been shy about using their family name to enrich themselves and their friends. Jeb sold $74 million worth of water pumps to the Nigerian government in 1988. Marvin tried to sell electronic fences to the defense ministry of Kuwait two years after the Gulf War, while Neil sought contracts to provide oil-field antipollution equipment. And George W. lent his name to tiny Harken Energy to help secure a huge offshore drilling contract in Bahrain
I know you have all this covered but if you missed these articles thought I'd share.....and they wanted to Impeach Bill over a BJ......and screamed over WhiteWater......follow the oil and Dick and the Bushes will be somewhere
This should have at least raised an eyebrow War planned before 9/11? Oh well i need to go answer the door... two men in black suits are ringing my cow bell

Save yer breath, darlin'...

The Bush Cartel has been double dirty dealing for generations.
Even granddad was accused of being a traitor during WWII for
War Profiteering when he got caught Crimson Fisted supplying
Adolph Hitler's War Machine.

The list is long and dirty full of ignominious double-dealings.
Nothing came of it then, and nothing will come from it now.

The only reason it's of any mention at all is as a footnote in
history to show the TRUE Character of the whole stinking clan.
