I have been playing around with 10.1 client AND server, and it is by far the biggest improvement I have ever seen. 1 problem found so far. I couldn't start classic on my iMac (much 3rd stuff loaded in classic!!). Everything else though, so far, looks excellent. I even set up my U Of M ISP account by comparing to my iBook next to the iMac in about 5 minutes, and it connected the first try!! It did take a while though.

--John Bailey( [color:red]Bdog )

Email Me ---> bdog_111@yahoo.com

A very thorough article. I also took the hint on how to give scroll bars a double arrow at each end. Thanks!

And that's true too.--Shakespeare, King Lear

I take it back! After I ran classic, it updated the OS9.2.1 versions of Open Transport & ASKM Modules (or something like that), and this broke my computers. Downgrading these two extensions to the Mac OS 9.2.1 versions (NOT the OS X.1 classic verisons) and then trashing the OT prefs, and restarting the machine fixed the problems!

--John Bailey( [color:red]Bdog )

Email Me ---> bdog_111@yahoo.com

I currently have to use classic, but only to print. I am currently using Word v. X Beta to do all my word proccessing but its printing is not enabled yet so i have to load up Word 98 in classic in order to print.

not sure if you can get away with this, but i cut-and-paste my word beta documents into text edit and then print and my formatting (so far) has stayed intact.

another trick...word doesn't allow you to save as a webpage yet...but you can choose webpage preview. do this and then in your browser you can view the source. copy the source and paste it into text edit or bbedit or dreamweaver, etc. and save. ta da...a webpage from your word document.

[color:blue] -sean
