I downloaded iCal last night. I double-clicked on the dmg file and ended up with a file that has iCal.pkg in it. No directions on installation and I can't find anything in the knowledge base. Do I double-click on it or drag it to Receipts where the other .pkg files are?

Never ever drag anything into the receipts folder... those packages cannot actually install anything, they are just, well, receipts.

[color:red] Kiss My Banana!
Visit me here!

Thanks, guys, went fine. I know I have to be very careful about this kind of system stuff but I will remember not to put anything in there now. Have a good day, I am off to work!

Nope, just needing to learn how things work. I went on iChat last night and it worked OK. And I just couldn't remember whether to double-click or drag to install a .pkg file. Even downloaded drivers for the Graphire tablet and tried out Inkwell.
