Even though the media is officially ignoring it today, the libs got shot down last night. Call for an unconditional surrender? Time to put it on record...oops...you don't want to do that? They can't be who they really are...because if people knew, they'd be out of power tomorrow....

House votes 403-3 to reject John Al-Murtha

On the front page of my local newspaper, which also pointed out that the whole thing was obvious grandstanding on the part of the republican leadership. What my local newspaper has not treated at all are the series of votes that the republican leadership has lost during the last week.

. . . . . the republicans did some sneaky maneuvering because they knew they constituency doesn't understand nuance (read: they tend to be ignorant). unfortunately, bryan is demonstrating this ignorance when he claims that democrats in congress (including murtha) asked for immediate removal of troops. even murtha understood the process would take some time (he suggested 6 months, which is far from immediate).

the republicans used a straw-man and did it beautifully given their audience who tend to fight straw-men all of the time.

--
"I am mindful that diversity is one of the strengths of the country" --president bush on 9/27/05
Rally around your new hero boys! If ever there was an embarrassment in the halls of Congress, we saw her face yesterday. In her moment of glory she displayed the true face of this petty, hateful and partisan majority party. So embarrassing it had to be stricken from the record.
link

The vote was not about helping our troops. It was not about national security. It was not about the future of Iraq. It was about trying to use an untrue premise (immediate withdrawl) to blame Democrats and sway public opinion that opposes Bush and the GOPs position. The GOP is lucky the media is not hyping this, it made the GOP and the rightwing spinmiesters look like complete fools, of which, Rep. Schmidt is your new class clown.

link
Rumsfeld's Defense department offers up plan to begin withdrawl next month. Why is Bryan not ranting that it is aiding and abetting the terrorists? Where is the al-Rumsfeld criticism?

Murtha says 6 month withdrawl. Declare victory, remove the troops from harms way. Station the troops to where they can be easily deployed if needed within Iraq. I think the country is going to like his plan more and more as the yellow-elephant couch-potato blogging-war mongers keep it up in their ranting against the "coward cut-and-run" Murtha.

I love how the media went in to an absolute frenzie over Murtha's comments .. as if Bush had lost some sort of Democrat ally or something. Fact is, Murtha has been speaking out against the war for several years .. Nothing new.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
4 8 25 26 23 42
