I recently was given a copy of Photoshop 4.0 (no, not pirated -- in the original box with key number and everything). I haven't installed it yet. Will this work at all on my iMac DV 400 running OS 9.2.1? If it would run, is it version 4.0 worth it (kind of a silly question considering I got it for free)? I've never used Photoshop before.

On the box it says the system recommendation is System 7.5 or higher. Also says it works on a PowerPC processor, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Edited by CaseCom on 10/07/01 02:15 AM (server time).

case... it should still work... no harm in installing it... just make sure that you do a custom install if it's available, and don't install anything (like quicktime 3) that is out dated... There might be other options that are outdated, so just be aware of that....

Keep in mind that PS 6 is a lot more advanced than PS 4... but PS 4 is probably good enough for you to learn whether or not PS 6 is worth investing in....

Also, with PS 5.5 and 6 you get a copy of Adobe Image Ready which is great for creating web graphics from bitmapped images (non-vector based)....

warmest,
John

***
"Buzzards gotta eat, same as worms"
--Clint Eastwood in The Outlaw Josey Wales
