yeah, i actually thought that was better than expected. we lost everyone to either graduation or transfer. bill self ran two mcdonald's all-americans out in his first 2 years. word on the street is that he wanted his players sooner rather than later.

well, we could conceivably start 4 freshmen and 1 sophomore, so the ranking seems high even though it's only 29.

but, i this will be the quickest kansas team we've ever seen. they'll also be the best defensive team we've had in a long, long time. they will turn some heads, but they'll also find a way to lose a few games they should win (e.g., texas A&M, baylor).

our second game is against arizona and our 3rd game could by michigan state. we are in the maui classic (carp, can you go root on my jayhawks?) and could come home with 3 losses. at least those games in maui will help our freshmen learn how intense college ball can be.

i didn't like the jayhawk players last year and i thought they were overrated. i am quite optimistic about the team this year. i think it'll be fun to be a jayhawk fan again.

as for wisconsin, i'd probably rank them higher than illinois at this point. i have a feeling that the illini spent their worth last season and will not live up to expectations this year. MSU will win the big 10, but wisconsin won't be far behind.

--
"I am mindful that diversity is one of the strengths of the country" --president bush on 9/27/05
I am surprised you found the post.
To be truthful it will be a couple months before I start following the teams faithfully.
Surprise upon surprise, Duke #1.
