In reply to:

If you had been watching Fox last night, Bill O'Reilly's position was that Bush has stumbled badly and it was his responsibility to see an adequate relief effort.

Oh, so NOW you agree with Bill O'Reilly. You liberals crack me the fsck up. Fox News is the bane of your existence, the source of all that's wrong with the world, until an editorialist there agrees with your point of view. Then you march around with your Fox News quote. Hypocrites.

Again, what would you have had Bush do, Gary? Personally conduct air-lift mission on board Marine One? Would that have quelled your "all-Bush/all-wrong/all-the-time" blood lust?

* * * * * * * * * * * * * *
I [censored] bigger than you.
That'd solved everything !!

I hadn't heard the O'Reilly info, but that should tell you Bush didn't take the situation seriously quick enough... he should have been on the job (and NOT on vacation) Sat or Sunday at the latest, checking with his FEMA and HS chiefs had things "handled" - they DIDN"T -they dropped the ball... but it's ultimately Bush's responsibility .. afterall who created HS and supposedly reorganized everything to make it more efficient and responsive ? Bush... HS reorganization and "over-haul" was Bush's "experiment" and it's failed pathetically.

David (OFI)
One this issue I do agree with O'Reilly. His show caught my attention because of Shephard Smith's interview, it was a gut-rentching report. I've never liked Smith, ever, but this report from the streets of New Orleans last night was good stuff. I've posted on this forum before good reporting from FoxNews.com. I've also posted plenty when they're tight on the tit -- that would be Brit Hume , Barnes and the other weasels there in the newsroom. As I mentioned in another thread, even Joe Scarborough was being extremely critical of the President's leadership on this one. I don't think I've ever agreed with Joe before on any issue.

What do I expect President Bush to do?

As a citizen I'll put my faith in the law of the land who is to delegate authority. It sure seemed that the info you supplied to us listed exactly what FEMA's responsibility was. Doesn't Bush have executive authority of Homeland Security and FEMA?

Please post a link to what information you are referencing that says what authority the President does or does not have with these Federal agencies. If Bush doesn't have executive authority over these Agencies, who is it that should be stepping up to the plate to take the heat off of the President, because in case you haven't noticed, Bush is taking a beating on this from the right as well as the left.
