Well best of luck with it. I personally have no love for moving companies, I think they're ranked just a single slot higher than ambulance-chasing injury lawyers on the "Scumbag Tree of Life"

CreativeGuy: Design software tips, tricks & commentary.

I'm thinking if that box got badly crunched and a couple of bottles broke, it would have leaked, and the odor would be unmistakable, and they probably would have opened the box to see if there were any unbroken bottles. JACKPOT!!!

Well this might make you feel better - Movers are the same here "sorta" must be in their DNA.

Anyway this poor guy bought a brand new home right.
His mover managed to tear up his Vynal flooring, dinged up his walls, gouged the entry door and another interior door --- Heres the best part the mover told the owner that the developer "meaning me" will take care of the damages ! ! Waaaa,

So the owner calls me and yap yap and yap and to take care of the damage.
I told him "Certainly NOT, I hope you chosen a mover that is insured" and "btw if you use Anyone other than the original contractors YOU will lose all warranties on those items. Have a Nice Day

The owner calls me back a few days later with a different attitude.
So I really help this guy out by coordinating all parties and their payment too - Something that I was not even supposed to even get involve in. But in the end the owner was happy again.

I hate to say this, but -- at least on the east coast, moving/storage is the favored industy of Israelis. Most of the moving co's in NY are Israeli, as is the company I'm dealing with now. But it's still a crap shoot.

The mover I used a year and a half ago to move my wife and daughter to Boca and me across town in Brooklyn was Israeli. The Florida load arrived pretty much damage-free, but took 3 and a half weeks to get there, and their attitude was "so what?". In fact, when they saw that I had paid with American Express, they issued a full refund in mid-trip so they could demand COD in Fla! They did offer a $200 credit due to the lateness, but they also forgot that I had paid for the local move with Amex, too. One phone call, and WHAM! Another $375 outta their pocket and back into mine. Unfortunately, this company doesn't accept Amex.

The guys that I used for my move to Bocda were also Israeli, and they were terrific. Go figure...
