Sherrod and Haley fled, but police found them three hours later at homes in Tacoma and Lakewood.

IMO Haley being the aggressor, was was already in a bad situation when he beat the first boy.
When he pursued the second boy and fled the scene of the accident, that ultimately placed him in dire straits.

Humm hard one.

But the boys were the aggressors after all they shot first right.
Still like you mention the 2 men lost everything when they beat the first boy and chased the second one into harms way < - - keep in mind that the men had no idea which way the 2nd kid would run. Still the men are a catalyst and cause.

I bet they would get - Aggravated assault on the first kid, accidental death on the 2nd kid and fleeing the scene of an accident and failure to render aid is a Federal Offense so that also makes them Felons

IMO
and what is a bottle rocket

Sorry to hear it.. Evil begets evil..

However, the man's duty was to grab the kids and hand them over to the authorities for prosecution, not to beat him up. That would have been the correct course of action.

Wether the authorities would give the boys a slap on the wrist or the chair, he acted as judge and executioner on behalf of the community and that lead to killing the boy, and that's wrong. On the other hand, manslaughter is a bit too much as it was not intended.

---
www.waleedsgallery.biz
I have no sympathy for any parties involved... they all got or are getting what's coming to them. I would never have dreamed of shooting bottle rocks at anything other than the sky when I was a kid (and they were legal back then), because I knew my dad would have whipped my ass so bad it would hurt the neighbor!

CreativeGuy: Design software tips, tricks & commentary.
