I read somewhere that the "r" was taken out of arse because the word spread thru New England (where they love to nasalize those a's) to the rest of the States. But, I don't know why we say "butt" when all the other English speakers I know of say "bum". <br><br>Most everyone is well aware here that ass also means a donkey, this was one of the things that made Sunday School a little less boring.<br><br>
