Using the left's gun control logic template, it's obvious that due to this tragegy, all iPods must now be banned.

That child would be alive today if it weren't for that iPod. Shame on Steve Jobs!

Using the right's 'blame Liberals for almost anything' logic template, even this young boy's tragic death can be exploited. Bleh!

wait til the body count gets up to the level of those in the USA killed with guns before you say stupid things like this...

using the word radical or rabid to describe your attitude is a gross understatement.

not ALL liberals are against ALL kinds of guns - if someone wants a hunting rifle or a pistol for protection - fine let 'em have it*; but no one needs a semi-automatic or automatic weapon. This kid was killed because of an iPod, not WITH an iPod. Big difference.

But once again this fascile argument (template?) rears it's head and somebody says something like, "yeah, well why don't they ban jetplanes? They crash and kill people." In this case it was iPods, so let's use iPods.

iPod is a device for storing music, pictures, and a variety of other information such as addresses that inadvertantly got some kid (and maybe others in the future) killed.

A gun is a device designed to shoot a piece of metal either into or through a person (or in rarer cases, an animal's) body for the purpose of either killing or maiming him/her.

Which one should be higher of on the list for banning? Hmmm.... the one designed for a completely different and legitimate purpose (such as jetplanes, kitchen knives, cars, tall buildings, trains, (ahem) iPods that someone could choke on) or the one that is designed to kill people and does indeed quite often succeed in doing just that?

Or my favorite one, guns don't kill people, people kill people. In Japan, guns are so strictly enforced against, almost no one has them. So, now and then a kid goes into his old school with a humungous kitchen knife and stabs someone or two. He never gets further than that because more people show up and over power him. If this kid had a gun he would have extracted a much higher toll, and could have kept any do gooders at bay. Yes, people kill people. And you can kill a lot more people a lot more efficiently with a gun than you can a kitchen knife.
