Well, the Starbucks down here don't have free WiFi like the ones up north, so I had to swing into Barnes and Noble and cough up $3.95 for two hours of use on their SBC Freedomlink network.

This vacation kicks ass so far for three reasons:

1.) This iBook...why did I put off buying a laptop for so long?

2.) The Sirius satellite radio that came with the rental car. That kicks ass! By the way, so does the rental car. A 2005 Chevy Impala...nice ride.

3.) Southern women.

Next stop, the real So Cal....South Carolina, that is.

Loc: the ancient forests of MiddleE...
Hmm when was an iBook a laptop?
You know those things destroy your gonads?

Anyway, looks like you are having fun.. I wish you further enjoyment.

but where will we be when the future comes?
Satellite does indeed kick ass, but there are a few kinks to be worked out.

In the Sirius model in the rental car, it takes several seconds of "acquiring info" to get the information about the station I just switched to. Not good.

But the other thing is this...

They have to program some of these channels better. Often times, the mix of music and the playlist has the slapped together feel of a digital cable music TV station.

It may be Sirius, but these are still radio "stations," and as such, the content has to be compelling and the mix of music paid attention to.

Sirius is decent..but I'll review XM's offerings before deciding which to go with.
