I see that instrument is a short scale (I've just started looking into what's available in short scales) . Unfortunately, I wouldn't buy a guitar that I haven't tried out first so it's to bad we're not closer.

Yeah, John, I feel the same way. That's why I only advertised it locally.

About the only guitar I'd by without trying it first is a Carvin electric. They have a great reputation, a generous return policy--plus, you can only buy retail at one of their outlets in California.

I've played a couple Carvins and have enjoyed them immensely.

As for acoustics...I wouldn't even buy a high-end Martin, Taylor or Takamine without having it in my hands first.

Addendum: John...If you're in the market for an acoustic, you owe it to yourself to find a dealer near to you who carries [color:TEAL]Garrison Guitars. They have a glass-fiber skeleton with wood overlay and play and sound like a dream for not a whole lot of money (relatively speaking).

'Course, there's the other PIA with these kinds of sales. Guy answers my ad at 10AM. He makes an offer a few bucks lower than the ask, I accept, he asks for my phone # so he can call me for an address and directions when he's ready ready to leave, and I still haven't heard from him.

Obviously, he changed his mind or found a better deal. Fine. But how about letting me know so I don't sit around the house all day when there are other things I can be getting done? Rude. And consistent with the way people do biz in So. Fla.

Yeah...that sucks.

In the past couple months, I've done 4 in-person local sales that I listed online. I just e-mailed them the directions, but some do insist on calling because a lot of people don't accept e-mail as a legitimate form of communication.

They also don't make a short scale, which is what I'm interested in. I presently have a Taylor, Guild and ancient Goya 12 string.

I have small hands, the reason I'm interested in the short scale. I figure if a short scale was good enough for Robert Johnson it ought to be good 'nough fo' me.

See, that's the thing, John.

I like lots of space and both the 24.75" scale and the 1.65" nut-width is just a bit too small for my hands. Middle registers are OK, but down near the nut I have a tough time isolating 1 fingertip to 1 string, particularly on some of the more dificult and oddly fingered jazz chords.
