Ahh...the double standard here is priceless. If Bill Frist was making the same statement to a Democratic president, the media would be demonizing him for being an obstructionist.

But since we have a Republican in the Oval Office, right this way Mr. Reid. The Mainstream Media will be punching your free pass down the hall and to your left.

"Senate Democrats will not allow a vote on President Bush's choice for U.N. ambassador unless the White House hands over records it has already asked for, Minority Leader Harry Reid said Thursday. "If they want John Bolton as ambassador to the United Nations, give us this information. If they don't, there will be no Bolton." Bolton's nomination to the U.N. post has been controversial because he has previously been an outspoken critic of the organization."

Absolutely .. The New York Times would devote much of their front page to the obstructinists for weeks and weeks... Lead story on all the networks ... perhaps even a new mocumentary from Michael Moore.

Bryan, tell me with a straight face the GOP didn't do this with many of Clinton's nominations. Forget the mechanisms- point is they blocked them.

they blocked far more than the current Dems have of Bush's.

politics is very predictable... BOTH sides use every rule to their advantage.
Reid, Gingrich, Frist, Dean... not a huge difference in action- just 2 opposite points of view !

There are civil and uncivil memebers on BOTH sides.

where's your balance ?

David (OFI)
