If you have a garage for your car you may have run across our dilemma. Some of you may use visual guides to line up properly, some string with various weights, some the infrared devices. I used to use visuals to make sure the Blazer we had was clear of the door. My husband has his pontoon boats hanging on the wall and that was my reference. I had one place on the boat I could get even with for pulling in forward and one for backing. Well one night I had worked a 12 hour day and got them confused. I scraped the front of the Blazer with the door. I am taking no chances with the Magnum. I asked my husband, Rick and he said we would look for the those raised rubber strips that when you bump you know you are in far enough. He couldn't find one but was able to get a cement one after a lumber place had remodeled the front of their building. He told me he stole it at first.
He painted it and added a reference strip for me to line up to if I back in. Here is the finished set up.
Hemi Parking Only
Now if he would just let me stencil some lettering on it.

I leave my dog in the garage when I go out. When I come home, the howl (or sometimes the crunch) tells me I've pulled in far enough.

NOT! I align my side mirror with a small "X" marked on the garage wall. Real simple. It's a small car, but also a very small garage.

Similar to what Sparky said.

The best and easiest that I have seen is a tennis ball dangled from a string.
Hang the ball at windshield height. Drive in until the ball touches the windshield, works every time.
