I went to the 1:45 today. Cheaper and had the whole role to myself. Of course Mr. I HaveToBuy$10PopcornAndEatItNoisley always sits behind me. I've just come to expect it. What I was thinking when I saw the CGI humans was that they looked and moved like a game. Could be just more marketing. So that they look similar in the games people will pay $40-$50 a pop for.

I don't know if Anakin turned to quickly, but I always thought (since I was a kid) it was the death of his wife that caused him to turn not the fear of her death.

I have to say overall I enjoyed it, but I didn't go to the late show so I wasn't tired and my hopes were not high. I thought II was the worst of the bunch. It's hard to get into the intensity of fight scene with people you know survive and are in IV and so on. There's some of that problem with III too, but at least you know Anakin is going to get messed up.

The writing and dialogue in this one is as weak as it was in the last two, but it had some more interesting bits to make up for it. When vader takes his first breath you could hear a pin drop in theater.

In reply to:

After what...a solid 15 year history of modern CGI....it all still looks fake.

Are you certain of that, or only what you know has to be fake because you place it under scrutiny?

I can name a few films that had extensive CGI work which you probably thought had zero, only because they weren't an "effects" film and you weren't looking for it.

Lots of times the look is a style choice.

Ahhh...I was quite happy to visit the local theatre on Mother's Day, for the first time since The Truman Show was first released.

We saw Crash and there were NO kids, NO noisy slurpers/lip smackers/open-mouth crunchers.

And the only CGI may have been when they made it look like a light snow was falling over Los Angeles.

WONDERFUL experience. GREAT movie.

"Am I the only one missing the full bosoms?"

OK, I saw it twice today. The second time I was on the lookout for the "full bosoms" and they were definitely there. Don't know if it was CGI or a Wonderbra but she had some major tata-age going on her last scene.
