The Installer turned up its nose at my upgraded PowerPC. Anybody know why this release isn't compatible with it? Seems like one G3 should be as good as another. What othe factors are involved?

I have not noticed any problems, but i have not noticed any inprovments either. I dont plan to update any of the computers at work yet, 9.1 runs fine for us as it is.

From what I have read, this update only works on computers that officially supported by Mac Os X ( computers that shiped with G3's or G4's )

Oni

We got death star, We got death star

I agree--no noticeable changes with the new OS. I did fire up my X partition after I'd installed it, and kept getting a sound from the HD as if something were working away, and every now and then whatever I was doing would stop for a second, and then the SETI icon would flash on my app. menu (from ASM.app). I have a feeling, though, that that was because I was using my 9 partition as classic, instead of the 9 installed on the X partition. We'll see.

And that's true too.--Shakespeare, King Lear
