I'm having no problem seeing both versions of the movie below as embedded over on the Adobe Forum. I can see them here as well. I have no problem viewing it when I click on the links for them. I sent the first link to my brother, who never has any trouble with this sort of thing. He said the page and the QT UI loaded, but that the movie never seemed to finish loading. I sure wish I knew more about preparing files for Internet playing.

Do you see version 1 of the movie directly below here?

What about version 2, below here?

[color:DARKCYAN]Link to version 1
[color:DARKCYAN]Link to version 2

I get the same results from Safari, Camino & Firefox: nothing on #1 (except for nonworking image of QT bar), and #2 works fine, both in post window and in link.

(Boy, that WWF panda gets around.)

Thanks, Leslie (did I spell that right?)

I think I figured out what was going on.

I think somehow that the first one I uploaded (hungoverpanda.mov) is actually just a pointer that somehow brings up the QT movie I have sitting on my desktop. It then plays that movie from either within the forum reply, or in a new page if you click the link. What I don't understand is how I went about creating the file that does that. This is the only thing I can figure, because the file I uploaded to my server was only about 3K, and the quality is MUCH better than the second one. It HAS to be triggering the movie on my desktop. I thought I'd discovered a new planet or something, creating a movie file that small with such high quality.

This new one (sickpanda.mov) was about 1.2 MB, but the image quality is much worse.

I gotta look for some QT tutorials.

(Yup, you spelled it right.)

If you find any good tutorials, could you post up some links? I run into the same sort of problems, not knowing squat about video. There's too many options when saving or exporting files that I don't know what's what.
