If anyone's to be 'shamed', it's the media and anyone who jumped to the assumption that the husband was up to no good. That's where this was leading, anyway...

[color:red]5.19.05 - The 'Jedi Slaughter' tour begins!

I agree she probably has some mental problems and I'm certainly willing to extend some sympathy to her, but that doesn't mean she should get away scott free. Making a false claim and tying up law enforcement officers unnecessarily with no penalty is something that needs to be nipped in the bud right now. Just as the woman spilling a cup of obviously hot coffee in her lap and being awarded damages opened the floodgates for trivial lawsuits, this one will establish a blueprint that attention-starved, selfish people will be all-too-willing to follow.

Haha just seeing if I could throw something in to stir you guys up. I feel a little sorry for her but not that much. Although she does look crazier than a raccoon to me. I think the best punishment would be to make her get married. I like Sam's comeback the best.

That's it. I'm playing the gender card.

If this was a man (in some capacity, some lateral scenario) the media would be stoking the coals beneath the guy's feet. Nancy Grace would be livid, spittle flying at the camera from her frothy anger while her kicky blond doo does it's best to simulate a bobble head doll.

I'm serious. With all the Amber alerts (ALWAYS about a girl although boys are molested too), and now this kind of crap, consider how much bias there is against men.

I have no problem with women (honestly) but I'm sick of the media's bias perpetuating the BS.

-------
Aren't you a little old for post-modern nostalgic irony?
I'm with you there - I was in Starbucks this weekend (In England) and there was a thing on my table inviting me to participate in a campaign to reduce domestic violence - but it was entirely about violence towards women. Now according to people I know who work in social services over here, the instance of domestic violence is pretty much 50/50 women towards men as well as the other way round... but they're not allowed to say so publicly, because there's just no cultural support for the idea that women are imperfect too. It's difficult - men and women are both making each other suffer, and it could all do with stopping.

- padmavyuha

Where the truth is, there had better be love...

It's Monday and the morning news shows are milking this woman's story for all it's worth and treating her with kid gloves, because since it was the bride...it's "cute".

Commence with the rotten produce:

Can you imagine being Nancy Grace's husband??? Even if it was all exploitation/schtick... imagine the crap you'd take from other guys. Yeesh.

-------
Aren't you a little old for post-modern nostalgic irony?
I was reading where she told the cops and the FBI that it was all spur of the moment...

But an investigation is finding out that she bought her bus ticket weeks ago.

When I first heard about this woman (when she was reported missing) and they showed a picture of the couple the first thing I thought was she ran away. He's a big goof and she had a look in her eye like she wasn't all right in the head. In the end if she had just said she ran away and said she hadn't watched TV or read a paper so she had no idea anyone was looking for her, but phoned police as soon as she knew she would have gotten away with it.
