Time Warner and Comcast have jointly purchased Adelphia. I'll probably have left Fla. before anything changes here, but it'll be interesting to see where this goes.<br><br>Sidebar: Just got a letter yesterday from Adelphia telling me that my 4Mbps service has been upgraded to 6Mbps. Problem is, I've never gotten better than 2.6. And after a lengthy discussion and trouble-shooting yesterday with a level 2 tech, I learned that the modem I was given by Adelphia can't handle the higher speeds, so they're giving me a new modem tomorrow. With that bit of information, I will now demand a refund of the additional $17/mo I've been paying for the Premier Service since November. Is there an ISP out there that knows what the hell it's doing? <br><br><br>

Yeesh, this is p!ssing me off.<br><br>A tech comes to my house this AM, spends 3 hours chasing cable throughout the house, eliminates a couple of redundant splitters, replaces some cable with chafed casings, swaps the modem, and leaves scratching his head because I'm still not getting better than the very low 2's and less, and I'm supposed to be getting up to 6MB! Crazier still is that while the downstream speeds are way below what they should be, upstream is right on target: mid 5k's (right at the cap) <br><br>So now I have to wait for them to contact me with the next steps. <br><br><br>
