I wanted to experiment a little with iMovie. Believe it or not I have never done too much with it. Even though I bought a DV camera last year. So I made a couple of music videos with clips from Lost. They're nothing spectacular, but if you are a Lost fan you might get a kick out of them.
They're in Real Media (I actually got the best output file with that) about 6 MB each.
Eat For Two (10,000 Maniacs)
Nowhere Again (Secret Machines)

Excellent pairing of music and footage. I did the same thing today but I used footage I filmed myself. You have better special effects. I never thought of 'sharing' in anything but Quicktime. Yours are much smaller file size. It's fun isn't it? Good job, I enjoyed it.

Thanks, Yeah it is fun. Kind of like a puzzle. On the Nowhere Again one I experimented with using three audio tracks. From the clips, the music and a third consisting of the jet engine whining and some screams. I have a bunch of effects, transitions etc., but I try not to use too many. I think it would be the equivalent of using too many font styles when doing desktop work.
I have a copy of Sorenson Squeeze 4.0 for compressing the file. I tried sharing to QT out of iMovie, and out of Squeez, but ended up with a 15 MB file that wasn't as good as the 7 MB file I got in Real Media using Sorenson.
I hope you post a link to the one you made. I'd like to see it.
