Just flipped on the TV and landed on CNN. It appears they're doing an ongoing Schiavo Death Vigil today. Complete with color commentary, cutaways, remote reports... the whole disgusting, opportunistic 9 yards!

IMHO, Schiavo is a schmuck. I don't buy his position, and I have many questions about his motives. On the other hand, I can't discount the fact that year after year, hearing after hearing, appeal after appeal, the state and Federal courts have been consistent in their findings. And now, after a week of starvation, there's even less chance of recovery (if there ever was in the first place), and certainly time to let Terri pass on.

But this media circus has now gone far beyond what any reasonable person should have to tolerate! Whether or not you believe she's being robbed of her life, you can't deny that her dignity has been stolen in broad daylight. This makes last week's political grandstanding almost negligible. And CNN should be ashamed of itself.

What's done is done. Look at the bright side, 'tho. We should all be grateful that CNN wasn't at the Crucifixion.

I also have very uneasy feelings about the husband. It's said that he was a very controlling person, even to the point of recording the daily odometer reading in Terri's car. When he split with his first girlfriend after Terri's hospitalization she alleges that he stalked her for a year afterward. And at the malpracice trial he was very contrite and convincing about how he would care for Terri. These are all hallmarks of an abusing husband.

And if you really want to swim in muddy waters, it's alleged that the Clearwater County judiary is in the hip pocket of the Crock of $cientotology. $cientologists hold that persons that are less than whole are evil and should die.

I would also like to read the full transcript of the original malpracice trial. That also makes no sense as to the cause of her affliction.

I had read that the guy's a control freak, and that alone is a red flag for me. But who knows if the whole truth will ever be revealed. The problem now is that we're seeing all the National Inquirer-like stories starting to ooz out of the ground. Like claims from "instant witnesses" that he used to visit her in the hospital and ask the nurses if "...the bitch was dead yet...". Crap like that can cloud any new truths that may eventually emerge.

Something I have been wondering....

All this commotion is going on outside of a hospice....what about the other patients in there that are trying to die with dignity? Do they deserve to have all that commotion going on in their final days?

Still waiting for the......

We interrupt this program for breaking news. As Terri Shiavo clings on to life, we have learnt the man in the next room over has died. We go to Bob who is standing outside his parents home to find out the latest. Bob.......

Our first goal will be to place ALL dying and aged persons on life support until this issue is resolved. We feel that EVERYONE has the right to live, no matter how old or how ill. We find it ludicrous that anyone should ever die. Life should be permanent. We're angry at God for not figuring this out in the first place, but feel sure we can change the law to reflect this new position. Will you excuse me, Dirk? I have to ensure my firearms are loaded for the protest.

Thank you for that report, Bob.

Coming up after the break, Cryogenics Inc. reports that they will be expanding their head freezing facilities in Arizona. But first a message from our sponsors.......
