"... Ace Ventura's apartment after the landlord leaves and all of the animals start coming out of the woodwork."

That's a great mental image and very good example. HAHA
It wasn't always like that, too.

MM has seen it's prime. For me, it's not the forum software that matters. It's the people. There was enough of them that you could always find someone posting an interesting story, but there's so few now.

Regarding your example about Tera. Here was a perfect chance to breath some life into the board. The web master of a very active and feature rich Mac site, and her reception here was luke warm at best. I wouldn't be holding my breath for her return.
It would have taken one mention of MM on her site and we'd have new people jumping in to say hi. Eh, I'm beating a dead horse.

Participation being low is probably the biggest problem. When I first came here and started posting I got the feeling that people didn't care about my posts just because I was a newbie. I don't think that anymore, but I can definitely see how new members would see it the way I did. I'm not saying we need to baby every newcomer, but maybe take a little more time in letting them know they are welcome here. For instance, the first thread where tpatricks showed up, she was asked if she was the porn star of the same name. She may have taken that fine, but a lot of women wouldn't have. I don't want to get into the aspect of what's OK to say and what isn't, mostly cause I don't care ...but it might be better to say "Welcome to the forums" before "Hey, are you the pornstar". You save that question for the 3rd thread! Make it the 3rd thread rule.

Glad to see someone else who shares my opinion.

I've noticed that many of your posts in this thread include "There's nothing wrong with that..." and I get a sense you say that in order to avoid possible backlash.
There's sarcasm and there's joshing.
People here used to take everything with a grain of salt, but things got heated, really heated and most people, myself included, have become thin skinned. I'm trying to be better. I keep my bar room brawling in the soapbox and leave this place to chat.
It might confuse some but I can seperate between the two and while I can mix it up with Sean in the Soapbox, here we're just two guys who rap about whatever.

Anyway, I don't see anything improving unless we start cloning iRock.

Haha I'm the only one that can swim in the testosterone sea. Here all along I thought the sarcasm was witty. Guess I was half right.
(PS I'm getting a new car! I'm getting a new car! I'm getting a new car!)

I just wanted to get my own personal view out there since I haven't really stated it before.

Ordered it yesterday. But I am a little miffed with rick. He won't let me get the 6.1L 420 HP engine. So I will make do with the 340HP. We drove one yesterday and OH MY GOD! He is thrilled too.
Here is exactly what we are getting. It's got the Hemi.
