Where are the very much talked about color screens, and the iPod minis, instead of adding more cool colors, like red, black, etc, they FREAKin MAke the old colors UGLY. For NEW ipod colors, I definetlly didn't espect something as lazy as this.

~Ryan~
PS. The ipod photo update was good, but wtf are the mini screens?!

Edited by warpling on 02/23/05 09:31 AM (server time).

Looks like they decided to drop the price by $50 and give you 18hrs battery live instead. Not bad at all. Color screens are cool and all, but not a reason to hold off buying one. Color screens don't make the music any better

Well, you need to stop setting your expectations based on rumor sites.

If the mini had a color screen, it would cost more and the battery life wouldn't be as good. I prefer that trade-off.

As for the mini colors, I'm guessing it's a demographic thing.

Colour screen? No purpose and wastes battery life.
New colours? That's entirely subjective. Given the numerous design awards Apple has won, I would say they know what they are doing.

Honestly, why would you expect such a useless "upgrade"?

I'd have to agree with the fact that people should stop basing expectations on rumor sites. It's interesting that Think Secret has been 100% right on Mac Hardware and almost totally wrong with iPods. Their last big miss was striped iPod Minis and a $149 version.

As for colors, I like the more defined colors - and the only iPods Minis I even saw on the shelf this past Christmas were gold ones. That was a smart move to get rid of it. I'm with you on the black though - a black iPod mini or even a perfed metal one would look nice, but that's what cases are for.

My bets would be that NO ONE wants to potentially mess up their relationship with Apple in the iPod area - so everyone is told point blank by Apple, "If you leak, you walk"

Think Secret was only able to find this info because a reseller got advance general specs, unlike informants in the past that seem to just be tossing out trade secrets like they were post it notes.

On topic though, I would like to see a color screen on the iPod mini - I think it's more suited to be the Photo iPod than the larger ones. I'd rather have even greater battery life and be monochrome on the 30's and 60's

WWW.ADZOOX.COM & www.JACKWHISPERS.COM
what would the point be of having color screens on NON-photo iPods of any sort?

Nahhhh.... I think Apple has the right mix of iPods. Battery life and price are more important than the screen color and the body color.
