I am probably a year late in this announcement but I just downloaded the Gmail widget from konfabulator and it is a really nice little utility. It alerts me to new messages waiting in my inbox, lets me login at the click of one button and I can intiate a search through my gmail messages directly from its interface! It is pretty cool!

Need a laugh? Visit CreatorDude.com

Too bad it's Konfabulator. Try gCount – it does the exact same thing and it stays in your menu bar where you can ALWAYS see it and get to it without clicking to hide windows first.

It might be useful for someone at work who wants to use GMail but doesn't want it to come through their mail client on their work machine...

Think outside the box, man.
