We always read so much about "right-wing Republicans," but hardly ever about "left-wing Democrats?"<br><br>A quick search on Google News reveals 88 instances of the phrase "right-wing Republicans," but only 5 showings of "left-wing Democrats."<br><br>Why the media obsession with the right wing?<br><br>
With the rise in power of the far right the democrats have felt that to stay competitive they must move more to the right as well. Hence, the "left-wing" Democrat is rare. There are no democrats that represent my views (big surprise, I know, but I don't think it was always this way).<br><br>Maybe another reason is that the term "left-wing" doesn't have the same zing to it that the old "L" word does, so plug that into google instead and see what you get.<br><br>...either that or its a media obsession with the right wing.<br><br>
