There is a perfectly good reason to post information from the front page in here... there is NO other place to discuss the stories. Check out virtually any other news site with a forum and there are links to threads for discussing the sites stories. MM is the oddball. I've been beggin the moderators here for a couple years (by way of snide remarks, of course ) to create such a system, but it just hasn't worked out.

So, I like it when people post the front page articles because the main reason I ended up at MM is because I like to talk about MacNews. I don't know why Michael didn't give his own view on the story in question, but then who the heck cares what Michael has to say anyway!

I was going to discuss the fact that they have already tried licensing the OS before, but it looks like Bryan has already nailed it.

It's just serving that raw potato for dinner, and expecting that your dinner guests will cook and top it themselves.

Just kinda lame, methinks.

It's an invitation to discuss.

Jobs has said many times that Apple is a computer company not a software company. I kind of like it the way it is. If they were to change it the next thing you know dell would be selling OS-X econo-boxes. Owning an Apple is the whole experiance, from the elegant machines to the slick software. If you leave out one part you loose the whole thing.

Salus populi suprema lex

Yeah, I wish Stan would impliment the story comments. That lame "test run" he did several months back just didn't cut it because he only put it on articles HE wanted to see discussion on, not all of them.

I can't stand admitting it, but I've actually gone back to MacCentral for my news because I can read the comments on the articles, which usually have more accurate info than the press release, plus troubleshooting tips.

Frustrating.
