I have a G5 and am using 10.3.

I got my new HD, and notice something at the start up. I am not sure if I noticed this before. When starting up, when it goes from the grey apple screen to logging on screen, the screen turns black for 2 seconds, is this what its supposted to do, I dont think it ever did this before. Thanks.

Don't forget there's still an underlying UNIX system at work here- I'm sure it's normal....

[color:red]"Now Venture'll send Samson after the rest of us and he'll go totally
sickhouse on our asses! I like my ass, gentlemen!" - The Monarch

This was the right answer - this is the kernel loading - on some Macs you actually get the folder with a question mark on it if you loaded OS 9.2.2 improperly on a Mac that doesn't boot into classic - then that brief black screen.

WWW.ADZOOX.COM & www.JACKWHISPERS.COM
