Steve still no matter what Moto phones SUCK
Maybe good for average Joe Smoe use but for me its really bad.

In my biz I used the phone constantly like 50 calls a day. The company provides me an "i88" Moto phone with Nextel service. The phone drops calls in the middle of a conversation, bad reception, and get this I would get messages like 3 days late..

First I thought it was the phone service Nextel that was all screwed up - I talked to others with Nextel service and they have no problems what so ever - Its gotta be the Motto phone and I had it replaced 3 times already

All carriers will have their trouble spots wherein no phone will get perfect reception. I've had AT&T forever. When I first moved to NYC, I had problems in Manhattan until ATT built up their system. Service has been fairly good in Boca, and improving as they merge their network with Cingular.

Same thing with VM delivery. It's all about the carrier's systems, not the phone.

Funny you should mention. The V600 is supposedly on the list of supported BT phones, but I've never been able to get mine to sync. Not that my life depends on it, but it would be nice to have it do what it do what it say it do.

I just want the damn phone to work.

I've got no *real* complaints about my Sanyo 8100, which I've had longer than any other cell phone ...

Two bitches I have had with this phone: The ear piece is a tad bit loud, even on the lowest setting. Also, I had to figure out the somewhat flakey voice-dialing feature (it doesn't like just one word entries, like Bryan or Work or Home). After figuring this out, voice-dialing works like a charm.

Other than these two things, this phone is rock-solid!

The 8100 gets excellent reception plus I can use the phone heavily off a full charge and still not run the battery down in a day. Last year I explored switching to Nextel and had the Motorola i730 phone. The battery life between it and my 8100 is laughable. Nearing the end of the day, the i730 was always in desperate need of being recharged, plus the ear piece was tinny and harsh comparatively.

One last item. Last winter, while getting out of my car one night, the 8100 fell out of my pocket and hit the deck, although I didn't realize it. Later, the temperatures dipped to around zero. The next morning, I discovered my phone on the ground next to my car. I fired it up and it worked perfectly .. never a problem with it.

The phone has a camera which isn't too bad ..

.. although it is what it is: a "camera" in a phone. Good in a pinch.

I can upload the pictures to the Sprint website, access the internet for headlines and sports scores (which is a damn handy feature on the road) and I have access to Doppler radar from The Weather Channel. I've used this a few times to leave early from the ballpark or to dodge a wicked storm.

All in all this is a solid cell phone and one of the best on the market. I would have no problem upgrading to the next generation of Sanyo.

****************
I have no signature at this time
