While I'm a fan only in the geographic sense (I work just three blocks from their office - RCA Dome), I am most impressed with the Colts because they define the over-used term "Old School."

*Edgerrin James scores a TD ... tosses the ball to the official and trots back to the sidelines.

*Marvin Harrison catches a TD pass ... Calmly walks back to the sidelines.

*Peyton Manning throws TD after TD after TD after TD ... Runs to the endzone and touches the helmet of Harrison or Pollard or Stokley .. maybe a high-five.

And it goes on throughout the roster .. Reggie Wayne .. Dwight Freeney .. Dominic Rhodes ...

There is no dancing. There is no strutting. There is no "oh-my-God-I've-only-been-in-the-league-for-10-years-I'm-going-to-act-like-this-is-the-first-Touchdown-I've-ever-made-in-my-life" showboating celebrations. There is no Terrell "I desperately need attention" Owens thug-ass antics.

The Colts are the most professional team in the NFL .. both in the way they play the game and the way they act on the field.

****************
I have no signature at this time

I'm not too sure how the Patriots act after sacks, interceptions, touchdowns etc, so I can't speak to them .. I haven't caught most of their games this year ... But in watching the Colts all season, there is absolutely no celebrating. There is enthusiasm, but none of this over-the-top crap that has infected all of professional sports over the past 10 years.

It's very refreshing to see.

****************
I have no signature at this time

Is it Eagles, Steelers, Pats all at 12-1? Yes, Steelers have the home field edge right now and the Jets were probably the last hope to change that. Can't count on the Jets for sheet. Pats will have to come to Heinz field but this time when they play I think Corey Dillon is going to suit up. Might make a difference.

In reply to:

Oh, you mean in the No Fun League, where Peyton Manning couldn't even wear different shoes as a tribute to Johnny Unitas?

Hell, what I care about is a league that is more concerned about a dress code than enforcing a *little* professionalism on the field. With the whole Pacers / Pistons brawl over in the NBA, this is a perfect opportunity to address all the BS that's been going on for so long.

****************
I have no signature at this time

I think I first noticed that about the Pats when they went to the superbowl against the Rams(?). The pregame introduction they chose to be introduced as the "entire team", rather than naming the team members. They also happened to play the game with the desire to win, rather than the desire to not lose.

The only problem I see with the Colts is the - lets-rack-up-points-and-hope-to-god-that-the-other-team-can't-keep-up-because-our-defence-leaks-like-a-sieve method. While that gets you to the playoffs, you're going to end up playing against teams that can keep up when you get there.

When Manning starts getting incomplete pass after incomplete pass he shows emotion. Ripping his chin strap off, shaking his head. That's always fun.

Yes Pats are also 12-1 after setting an NFL record for 21 straight wins in a row. If Dillon wasn't injured and Ty Law wasn't injured in the Pittsburgh game they would most definitely be 13-0 now.
