This would be hard to implement, and probably not high-priority, but would be really cool! You know how if there is an unread thread in a forum here, and it's color is orange indicating so? Well, how about if a new "news item" or "headline" was new, there would be a little picture of the word "new" next to it. And then, when you reload the news page @ a later time, the little "new" images would go away, becuase you already read them, or @ least the web server thought you did.
