I'll assume this means, uh, that you won't be signing the petition. That's cool. I wasn't taking an opinion poll, however....I was just asking anyone who cares about the issue to sign the petition. I'm not asking for the physical booklet...just a pdf. Some people care to read the lyrics, see the artwork, and read the credits of the people who put their blood, sweat, and tears in to the creation of the album. Others, like yourself, could care less. In this case, you simply opt out of downloading the pdf, or delete the one that would come to you automatically, whichever way they would provide the booklet.

With the new U2 releases, Apple IS including a booklet pdf. So apparently someone, somewhere has thje feeling that somebody would want to see the booklet. I would just like the OPTION of getting booklet pdfs for my computer. I know there are sites out there with scanned booklets...so apparently there is a demand. I'll assume you aren't going to those sites, but since we live in a world with many different people with many different tastes and preferences, I am sure there are a few people that visit those sites.

why not ask the RECORD LABELS!!!!!

they put the content up, they can put liner notes if they want to

Apple has nothing to do with it.

dumb online petitions.

I can sympathize with his point, for those who enjoy reading those things, it sucks to miss out on them. But I suspect that for 90% of the online music-buying public, they don't care, don't want to waste the bandwidth and time downloading the larger file & see it as nothing more than an excuse to raise prices. I for one don't miss them at all. If I want to see an album cover, I can run a script to download it from Amazon, and if I want the lyrics, I can Google the song and have the lyrics in seconds.

And I whole-heartedly agree, online petitions are a complete waste – especially when the company they are petitioning has no control over the topic in question.

For what it's worth, the new U2 album does come with a PDF of the liner notes when you download it from iTunes.

I found the PDF that comes with the U2 collection interesting; since its such a large collection of albums and extra songs.

Side Tip: The U2 PDF features the "playlist" (if you will) of the entire collection... When you download it, sort by Disk Number, to get all 445 songs in the order that they are listed in the PDF.

Bryan: Believe it or not... I'm still downloading. Let me explain... I ordered it right before my evening class last night, and was expecting to be in class for all 4 hours on the school's connection; but class was cut short (15 mins), and I didn't get a chance once I got home last-night to continue... I downloaded some today at work, but still got a lot left; but I'm not in a rush.
