Well, it's a tragedy for his family that he took his own life.

It does point something out: a lot of people thought that the occupant of the Oval Office was waaaayyyyyyy more important this election than it really was. How is someone's life going to change THAT much if one candidate or the other had won?

We heard over and over that it was "the most important election of our lifetime," but it really wasn't. Had Kerry won, not that much would have changed. People got sucked into the Moveon.org/ACT/Media Fund/George Soros/Michael Moore nonsense that somehow life would end as we know it if George Bush were reelected.

Our success or failure in life is up to us, not George Bush or John Kerry.

I think some of these fanatics need to go back and re-study what our form of government is all about, and how wise the original framers of the Constitution really were, and how in their wisdom they provided checks and balances so that no one branch of the government could wield undue power, and no individual state could do so, either.

It should be unnecessary to point this out, but I guess some people think that we actually elected an emperor.

Would have to agree with you that both sides (but mostly the Democratic side) made this election into a win at all costs because the nation cannot survive under satan's rule. (Insert Kerry or Bush). While I do believe we would have been better off with Kerry, especially Supreme Court nominations and the environment, both of which cannot be undone, Kerry would have had a hard time getting anything done with a Republican Congress.

So no one told this guy that no matter what Bush does we all benefit or get screwed equally? (OK not so equally if you are rich but this part would not have changed much at all.)

Not the end of the world. I'll take a small amount of all my tax bonanzas from the next four years and up my donations to the ACLU, Amnesty International and the Sierra Club and hope for the best. Hopefully the oil derricks won't be too obvious from the National Parks.

ps. I think the title of this thread was in poor taste but since I am certifiable who cares? Actually just the use of his death as a funny thread starter is lame but I'm just a whiny overly sensitive liberal I guess.

Didn't mean it as offensive- just a small representation of some of the extremist thinking and melodrama going on in the forums around here....

Apologize if a joke was made of this guy's death- but like you said, it's *not* the end of the world and to end one's life, on account of a presidential election not turning out the way you wanted, is pretty mindless and a tad over the top.

[color:red]C'mon...you know me.
Yeah, my calling it tasteless was an over reaction. The guy took his life for a very stupid reason. I guess the linking to it possibly being an MCF poster raised my hackles but in all honesty the link is correct. People just gotta take a chill pill and re-evaluate. Bush is in fact a president to all (everyone in the US) of us so his screw ups and blunders will affect us all. Here's to hoping he has moments of sanity in the next four years and if he screws up too bad the Republican Senate will have the cajones to impeach him. HAHA.... Sheesh, I was about to end this post in a mad cackle.

At least I'm not a Yankee fan.
