well, i can't...actually, i am using grant monies from the national institute of health, but i still can't justify it. better to spend a little less and have more money left over for other necessities (e.g., a laser printer). shucks!

i am dropping the studio display. i had already upgraded to dual monitor support because i knew this would happen. 2 monitors can be just as good...i hope. i can get 2 flat screen (not flat panel) monitors at 19" for a very reasonable price. i just hope i have the desk space.

[color:blue] -sean

The Cinema Display is defintiley a luxury... for a lot less money you can get a 22" or 24" CRT that has a higher resolution and better color matching. Sure, it's not as sharp and takes up about 5x more space, but unless you're paying $1000 sq. ft. for rent, it's a good deal. :)

okay, now i have ordered the 867 mhz (saving a thousand over the dual 800's). that $1000 will go towards a 17" apple flat panel. the money i would have spent on a monitor ($300 - $400) can get me a very good 17" - 19" CRT with a flat screen. i can use the CRT for graphics and media work and the LCD for my text work.

quick question: i will have two different things on the 2 different screens at different resolutions. my hard drive will only show up on 1 (i assume). is it easy to move the mouse from one display to the next or do most people make an alias to their hard drive on the second monitor? if you place the dock across the bottom of the screen, how does it decide which monitor to go to (i just switched from thinking about 9.x to X - sorry)?

[color:blue] -sean
