Who do you think will win the election? It looks pretty darn close.

I think George Bush will get 277 electoral votes, and the popular vote too this time.

[color:blue]All your sock puppets are belong to us
Kerry will win the popular and will win the electoral vote with 311.

--
one of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. -Plato
That's awfully bold! There are just too many variables conspiring here. The biggest is overall voter turnout. If it's above 110M, I think Kerry wins. If it's above 115M, he wins in the proportions you are predicting. The other variable is whether or not there will be any backlash from moderate Republicans. This is totally unlikely, but John Mclaughlin seems to think it will happen. He also is predicting a Kerry win.

I think Kerry can only win if it stays out of the courts. The whole strategy last time around in Florida was to take it out of the voters' hands as quickly as possible. That is how the case got elevated to the Supreme Court. The faster you can get it out of state, the less likely any ruling body is to consider the will of the voters. So I predict Kerry may squeak by, but he has to do it in a margin large enough to keep the electoral process honest.

-- Charlie Alpha Roger Yankee Whiskey
I voted for Bush, because I do think he'll win the election. But I hope and pray that Kerry wins.

edit: someday my fingers will come to realize that "h" comes between the "t" and whatever vowel follows in words like taht and teh

Edited by yoyo52 on 10/31/04 03:45 PM (server time).

Tedious? I've actually been very pleased the with new structure of MM's boards- having the Soapbox keeps the Lounge full of fluff & fun, and keeps all the sniping in here.

Noon? I don't expect this place to quiet down until next month sometime, regardless of who wins...

[color:red]C'mon...you know me.
