Just got an e-mail from a longtime friend that works at this same company...

In reply to:

starting to feel like you're avoiding me............ :-(

I get this e-mail from her roughly once a month. I'm sorry that I can't sit next to her to babysit her feelings on an hourly basis, but I'm BUSY WORKING!!! Jesus, why are some people so dependent on constant affirmation of a friendship with mindless chit chat?

Maybe I'll set up a script that will e-mail her every hour with a message that says "I'm giving you attention right now. I'm not avoiding you. We're still friends."

Some people, I tell ya!

Now, I'm not stereotyping but here's a little piece of advice about women:

99.9% of women LOVE communication, and while a man might not think twice about not talking to one of his other male buddies for months at a time (and still pick right up where they left off), women take it personally and think they must have done 'something wrong' when you don't make contact every once in a while...

Something in the DNA, I guess. That and shoes.

[color:red]C'mon...you know me.

I wish!

I've had a bunch of people in my life that thought unless I was in constant contact with them it was a sign of deliberate avoidance. Well, maybe I have a life (what little there is of it) of my own to live, you narcissistic a-holes!!

I really think each and every person should live ALONE for at least two years of their life to be weened from their dependence of others to survive. It builds character (and your right arm).

My sister-in-law has a management position working for the state in education. She has two women working under her that if she doesn't come in in the morning and say hello to them separately using each of their names they are mad all day. A blanket hello will not do. "You didn't say Hello to me."
Crazy. I am lucky enough that the weirdest people at work think I am their friend because I have to help everyone with their computers. They confide to me things I really would rather not know.

Hmm, sounds like someone's had a personal experience to share about dipping the pen in the company ink...

[color:red]C'mon...you know me.
