All of a sudden here lately, Safari is taking way too long to contact and render certain sites, yet Firefox has no problem. <br><br>I have no idea what the problem could be, but it's now in the #2 slot. <br><br>
Have you emptied the "Icons" folder in your User/Library/Safari folder? Those godforsaken stupid favicons build up in that folder and every time you go to a page, Safari checks that folder to see if you already have the favicon - which of course slows load time down the more icons you have in there.<br><br>

Does your Safari give you the spinning beach ball while its loading a page? There just has to be something wrong with my installation, I think. I'm at home now, using the dinky old clamshell iBook, and Safari is fine. It's just my main desktop G4 that has the problem. I've already dumped everything with Safari in it and reinstalled Safari--and no joy. <br><br>
