Well, I dumped all the Safari stuff, down to the com.Apple.Safari.plist preference file, once more. This time I also dumped the Bookmarks.plist file. I reinstalled Safari, and then moved the Bookmarks.plist file from the iBook to the G4 tower (the two files were identical thanks to iSync). Now Safari is behaving very well. So I guess it must have been the Bookmarks.plist file that was causing the problem.

Hello all. First post here, and new mac user. I'm using mozilla 1.7.3. I used all the different flavors of gecko (k-meleon, netscape, mozilla, firefox) while I was on windows, and I guess old habits are hard to break. Safari just didn't click with me. I don't hate it or anything; it just wasn't for me. Other than that, I'm loving my new ibook. The next time I hear something about a worm on t.v., I'm just going to smile and crack open a diet cola.

Welcome to the forums!

Good stuff about the Mozilla browsers....it makes switching much easier when you're used to those browsers, because they're exactly the same on Windows, Linux and the Mac.

I like firefox a lot, but when I upload my flash files for my website, firefox shrnks them way down. Is this a firefox plugin issue or am I not exporting them properly for firefox. if you look at: www.turnerdigitalmedia.com in firefox, you'll see what i mean. However, when you look at it in IE, it looks fine.

All around em are familiar faces,
Worn out places,
Worn out faces.

Bright and early for the daily races,
Going nowhere,
Going nowhere.

Their tears are filling up their glasses,
No expression,
No expression.
Oddly enough, I never had much trouble with Safari. I didn't like it at first because of the progress bar (of all the silly things), but then I discovered to turn on the Status bar at the bottom of the window and now things are fine.

My only complaint is that it doesn't show the progress of loading some embedded movies. I have to open the status window and dig down through to find the progress. That can be a pain sometimes.
