There were being beat for the first time in 10 games by Texas. 8-1 the score but the Yankees loss is posted in the outfield seven to nothing. A wild cheer. A grand slam. Another homer makes it 8-6 but they fall short.

But the Yankees suck. This year they suck.

luciferase is a four nineteener

Hey! Keep this non-political crap outta here! You're ruining this forum!

;-D ;-D ;-D

***matt

Turn up the signal, wipe out the noise ...
Hey this is totally political. Texas was owned by George Bush and they are playing Boston. H eripped off the taxpayers down in Texas then sold his share of the team for megabucks.

luciferase is a four nineteener
I missed that story but found it

For 16 years I've lived about three miles away from his house and never knew until the last few years. I need to pick up a biography of the Babe.

luciferase is a four nineteener
You pathetic Sox fans seem to forget that the 'curse' has nothing to do with beating out the Yankees or finishing ahead of the Yankees, or the Yankees 'sucking'.

It has to do with one piece of hardware that you have failed to capture even in years where the Yankees weren't even involved in the pennant race.

Yankees had nothing to do with that ball going through Buckner's legs, did it? So go ahead, win the division, knock us out of the playoffs- small potatoes...I could actually use the break for my stomach. If the Yanks aren't meant to do it this year, I have tapes of 26 other championships I can watch and relish.

[color:white]God speed, mikeb. Who said the curse had anything to do with the Yankees? It was Babe being sold for "No No Nanette". It was only happenstance that the Yankees were the buyers.

When both the Lombardi and the World Series trophy reside in the city on the hill there will be gnashing of teeth in the Bronx. It won't only be George doing the gnashing.

Now if it could only happen in this century ...

luciferase is a four nineteener
FYI, I was rooting for Boston in '86- I just happened to hate the Mets a lot more during that Series...

I think that's as close as you're gonna get for a long, long time...

[color:white]God speed, mikeb. Go drive your Boxster in the big Autobahn in the sky...
