I wish they would have, but down here they wave the race card and nobody will touch it. It's not politically correct or something. I guess that's why I lean so hard to the right. I think that fair means fair. If one group gets a tax cut, everybody gets a tax cut, if one group gets and increase, everybody gets an increase. If the law says you have to have ID to vote, then it should apply to everybody. I dream of the day that the playing field is level. No special treatment for this group or that. I want to see the day we are all the same, not African Americans, or Asian Americans, or Hispanic Americans, just Americans with the same opportunities, and the same responsibilities to make our own lives better, not relying on some special treatment from the law or the government. Just equal treatment.

Salus populi suprema lex

of course, you can vote for anyone you wish to vote for even if they aren't running. however, we almost always have more than 2 candidates who actually run (e.g., ralph nader received about 3 - 5% of the vote in 2000). ross perot was a 3rd party candidate who received a significant portion of the vote in 1992 or 1996 or both (i can't recall). but, it's hard for a 3rd party because they aren't often included in the big debates that are on TV (though, ross perot managed to get in on the debates -- i think he's been the only 3rd party candidate who has done this).

"Tribal sovereignty means that, it's sovereign. You're a—you've been given sovereignty, and you're viewed as a sovereign entity. And, therefore, the relationship between the federal government and tribes is one between sovereign entities." dubya 8.6.04
