Just one suggestion on the titles. I think anyone who signed up on 4/20/02 and later should have the title "newbie". Everyone who is 4/19/02 and earlier should be titled, "Wise Sage" or "Grand Wizard" or something similar. <br><br><br><br><br>luciferase

Unlike my thoughts on them at the new MacWorld forums (where I actually prefer NOT to have any images at all), they have a reason... they don't have a "Lounge" forum, so there's no reason for photos to be posted.<br><br>But here is a different story. I don't think this forum has ever been predominantly about Mac subjects, rather, it's been all about family & friends - and pictures are wanted, no matter how long it takes to download them. In THIS atmosphere, I would hate to see photos & avatars go away – though it doesn't really matter in the long run.<br><br>

I agree. I look back at some for reference, there is no need to bump them to the top. If we want to comment on something in one we can just start a new thread.<br><br>

Hey back at cha.. My little contribution on the matter is only that I enjoy the different signatures that some of the folks here have..the little sayings..the pictures..for myself who is computer challenged I enjoy those who change them often,,Giz, iRocks, are good examples, the mood and personality of the signitures are fun...kind of nice to see..but I am game for what ever transpires..Cheers<br><br>

For me old posts are important, but if I may suggest don't settle for phpbb. It's a great forum software, but you can do so much more with Drupal for example. I do have phpbb on my site, but my site is just so much smaller than macminute cafe.<br><br>If you do go for phpbb you may want to consider to add the attachement mod, so that people can upload images and files to share even if they don't have their own servers. This way you can also make sure that the links will not brake if the individuals move them from their servers. You can also allow people to upload their avatars to your servers with phpbb. I think that's a very useful feature, although you need to consider if you can afford all the bandwidth, but I guess you have an unlimited account.<br><br>I would not want to loose old posts and usernames, but if you have to let it be.<br><br>Let me know if you need any help with the phpbb installation, especially the attachement mod. How about themes? Do you already have a designer to do it for you?<br><br>

Nothing in the grand scheme of things is important except old posts. There's a lot of cool hints and communal tech support in there that should remain searchable.<br><br>
